Every year Apple does a summertime camp for kids at its U.S. retailer. The free workshops teach 8-12 year olds ways to make motion pictures and music with iMovie and Garageband. Camp sessions start around the middle of July and last with the beginning of August in some cases. There are two workshop days that culminate with an Apple Camp Movie Celebration.

At Apple Camp, kids ages 8-12 discover ways to shoot their own video, create an original tune in GarageBand on an iPad, and put everything together in iMovie on a Mac. This complimentary workshop, held at Apple Retail Stores, spans three days and ends with campers debuting their work of arts at the Apple Camp Movie Celebration. Space is restricted and workshops fill up rapidly, so register now for a super-creative adventure.

This is an excellent chance for a child who could want filmmaking. The camp has to do with even more than simply software application, students will be taught the fundamentals of storyboarding and will have hands-on time shooting video for their projects around the Apple stores.

Apple states that campers need to bring their own Mac, cam, and earphones. Apple will supply all the training and software for free.

Visit Apple’s web site to sign up for a camp at your regional Apple Shop. Kids under 13 should be accompanied to all workshops by a parent or legal guardian. Many of the camps have actually currently filled, so do not wait to sign your kid up.
