AirPlay Mirroring is easily among the coolest features of iOS. Mirroring every little thing that happens on your iPad (or iPhone) to an HDTV or to your Mac is spectacular and can likewise be incredibly useful for screencasts and demos.
I’ve actually composed prior to about the outstanding Reflector app that makes it possible for AirPlay Mirroring from the iPad or iPhone to a Mac, and picked it for our list of the very best iPad Apps of 2012. Today I wanted to point out a very cool function that Reflector provides: the ability to do screen recordings of your AirPlay Mirroring sessions on the Mac. As in, it’ll record a film file of your AirPlay Mirroring session.
To do a screen recording with the Reflector app you simply struck Command + R on the Mac keyboard or select ‘Start Recording’ from the Gadget menu of the app. Then hit Command + R once again when you wish to stop recording. It’s that easy. Reflector records video just, no sound. That’s not an issue though as it records in. mov format– so you can immediately import to iMovie and add a voiceover.
This must work simply as well on a Windows PC, with just a slight variation in the keyboard to begin and end recording. I was only able to partly test it out as I use a Windows virtual device on my iMac.
Happy AirPlay Mirroring recording.
